MOTS-c translocates to the nucleus under stress conditions to regulate genes related to stress adaptation.

MOTS-c is involved in glucose and skeletal muscle metabolism, and can improve glucose metabolism in skeletal muscle.
Aging
MOTS-c levels decline with age, and it may have beneficial effects on age-related diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and Alzheimer’s.
Physical performance
MOTS-c treatment can improve physical performance in mice of all ages.
